We’ve just gone past the midpoint of the year, so what better time to look at some of the top bathroom design trends of 2018 so far.
If you’re planning a new bathroom this year or early next year, these trends will hopefully provide you with some additional inspiration.
Black/dark radiators
While more traditional white radiators are still being chosen by a lot of homeowners, black/dark radiators are fast becoming a top choice for people who want an extra trendy bathroom.
Place them on white or light-coloured walls to create a striking accent piece and add a little bit of extra drama.
Rose gold
Whether it’s taps, towel rails or plugs, rose gold seems to be the colour choice that many people are opting for this year. It’s a clever one too as it adds a real touch of luxury without appearing overly pretentious (unlike gold).

A touch of grey
In the same way that dark/black radiators have become popular this year, so too have dark/grey bathrooms. And it’s quite a surprising trend when you consider that most people want to make their bathrooms appear larger then they are. Dark colours like grey do not always help achieve this, but they do look seriously sophisticated.
Digital showers
Digital gadgets have become a central part of most of our lives, so it should come as no surprise to learn that digital showers are making quite a splash.
The wireless controller that many digital showers come with allows you to set the perfect temperature and flow, allowing you to have a perfect experience every time you step into your shower.
Patterned tiles
A lot of the time, people go for plain tiles in their bathrooms. But patterned tiles – also referred to as Moroccan tiles or Spanish tiles – are having a huge impact this year.
The reason they work really well is because they add something unique and draw people’s eyes to them, making them an instant feature.
Moreover, because patterned tiles can be used on either a floor or a wall and they can be accompanied by plain tiles makes them extremely versatile. However, they can look a little overwhelming if used on both the floor and walls, so plan carefully before you make a purchase.
