We Need Your Help Finding Our Escaped Ducks....

Something naughty has happened at Aquarius Home Improvements…

Callum was sorting out the Aquarius ducks for a festive photoshoot when he managed to drop the entire box. The ducks saw their chance, made a break for it, and waddled straight out of #TeamAquarius HQ before anyone could stop them.

Since then, they’ve been spotted all over Ilkeston – browsing shelves, popping into cafés, admiring window displays and generally living their best lives and doing a little bit of Christmas shopping all around town.

They’re having a great time. Callum is not.

So now we need your help! After a count up, twenty of our runaway Aquarius ducks are still hiding inside local shops, cafés, salons and other independent Ilkeston businesses. Each one has a special number printed on its bottom so we can recognise which duck is which.

Some ducks are perching proudly in windows, some are hiding behind counters, and a few are in plain sight, pretending they totally belong there.

Your mission? Tell us which business each duck is in so we can go and fetch them. (Please don’t bring the ducks to us – they do peck if provoked.)

Every duck you find not only supports a brilliant Ilkeston business, but also helps bring the Aquarius ducks home where they belong. Every business taking part is helping us encourage the community to shop local this Christmas.

It’s free to join, fun for the whole family, and a fantastic way to explore all the great places Ilkeston has to offer and in turn help bring back our ducks that definitely need their loving family. Plus, everyone who correctly matches all 20 ducks will be entered into a prize draw:

Your mission is simple – find which businesses are ducks are hiding in and tell us the number from the bottom of the duck so we know where to go and fetch them back from.

To be in with a chance of winning, you must complete the following steps:

  1. WORK OUT WHICH LOCAL BUSINESS OUR DUCKS ARE IN
    1. Hidden in our billboard on Nottingham Road, Ilkeston are the names of 20 local businesses our ducks have been spotted in.
    2. Look carefully at the billboard and make a note of each business name you can find – all 20 are there somewhere!
  2. VISIT THE BUSINESSES
    • Once you’ve discovered the names of the businesses, visit each of those Ilkeston businesses in person.
    • Somewhere hiding inside the business you’ll find an Aquarius branded rubber duck proudly displaying a unique number.
    • Write down the number that matches each business name.
  3. MATCH YOUR DUCKS
    • When you’ve found all 20 businesses and their duck numbers, head over to fittedbathroomsandkitchens.com/christmas/ (this page) to submit your answers through the official duck hunt online entry form.
    • Alternatively, you can download and print this entry form to track and submit your answers back to us. If you don’t have a printer, we can provide you with an entry form – just pop in and ask for one!
  4. SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY
    • Once you have found all of the businesses and their duck numbers, submit this back to us either online or in-person via a printed entry form sheet.
    • Online: submit the form on this web page before 16:00 on 31 December 2025.
    • In-person: deliver/post your entry form back to us before 12:00 on 19 December 2025, you can find us at:

  5. WIN!
    • Everyone with the most correct matches will be entered into our prize draw on 7 January 2026, where you could win:

    • We will contact the winner via the contact details given, and will also announce this on our Facebook page.

  2. Eligibility
    1. The competition is open to everyone. We encourage families and children to take part together.
    2. If a prize winner is under 18 years of age, written consent from a parent or guardian will be required before any prize is released.
    3. Employees of Aquarius Home Improvements Ltd and their immediate families are not eligible to enter.
    4. Participating businesses are not aware of the other businesses involved and therefore remain eligible.
    5. Entry may be subject to a purchase or donation at participating businesses, at each business’s own discretion. Some may provide discounts, small purchases, or other incentives when giving out their duck number.
  3. The Businesses
    1. All businesses are located on South Street, Bath Street, or adjacent areas with the exception of 1 business that is ‘slightly’ WEST of Ilkeston.
    2. Some businesses may choose to promote their duck number on social media posts, website or other places.
    3. Aquarius Home Improvements DO NOT have a duck as Callum can no longer be trusted to look after them.  All other ducks are safely in our possession (not Callum’s) and ONLY the businesses listed on the billboard have ducks.
    4. All businesses have agreed to place promotional posters inside their business to help with the hunt of the ducks. Other local businesses are welcome to contact us for a poster if they wish to help promote the event.
    5. As this is a local business promotional event, all businesses taking part have agreed that if they require payment, donation or other condition (like a newsletter sign up or similar) to obtain their duck number, that the price of such will be nominal and low value.
  4. How To Enter
    1. Locate the numbered Aquarius rubber ducks hidden in 20 local businesses around Ilkeston.
    2. You must must record which business corresponds to each duck number to be successful.
    3. All businesses are located on South Street, Bath Street, or adjacent areas.

    6. In-person submissions: Deliver/post your entry form back to us before 12:00 on 19 December 2025, you can find us at:

      You can download an entry form here, or can collect one from the above address between 8am and 12pm Monday to Friday. If you miss the deadline for physical entires but would still like to enter, please submit your answers using the form found higher up this page.
    7. Participants may submit multiple entries, but only their highest-scoring entry will count toward the draw.
  5. Competition Period
    1. Entries open on from Friday 21 November and close at 16:00 on 31 December 2025.
    2. Entries received after the closing time will not be accepted.
  6. Prizes
    • First place: £250 Amazon Voucher
    • Second place: £150 Amazon Voucher
    • Third place: £100 Amazon Voucher
    • Prizes will be delivered to the winners in-person or via email at the discretion of Aquarius Home Improvements.
    • No alternative prize or substitution will be offered. Prizes are non-transferable.
  7. Winner Selection and Notification
    • After the closing date, all entries with the highest number of correct answers will be entered into a random draw.
    • The draw will take place on 7 January 2026.
    • Winners will be notified by telephone or tagged on the official Aquarius Home Improvements Facebook page.
    • Winners must contact Aquarius Home Improvements Ltd within 7 days of notification to claim their prize. If a winner cannot be contacted or fails to respond within this period, another entrant may be drawn in their place.
  8. Data Protection
    • Personal information collected for this competition will be used solely for administering the promotion and contacting winners.
    • When submitting the entry form, participants may choose to subscribe to our marketing emails. Standard data-protection terms from our Privacy Policy apply to those who subscribe.
    • Aquarius Home Improvements Ltd complies with current UK data-protection legislation.
  9. Publicity
    • By entering, participants agree that their first name and town may be used in publicity relating to the competition (including on social media). No other personal details will be shared without consent.
    • Winners agree that we can tag them on social media in relation to this competition.
    • Anyone under the age of 18 will require parental consent to be tagged in our promotional posts.
  10. Fair Play
    • All entries must be genuine. Any attempt to cheat, submit false information, or otherwise tamper with the competition will result in disqualification.
    • Aquarius Home Improvements Ltd reserves the right to verify entries and refuse any that appear suspicious or incomplete.
    • Anyone found giving our numbers of ducks to allow falsification of the entries will be banned from the competition and we reserve the right to publish their names across ours and the other local business social platforms (or other media) for cheating and ruining what is meant to be a local, fun and friendly competition.
    • Please do not tamper with, steal or attempt to obtain any of the ducks. They are like family to us and cost a lot of money to keep fed, housed and watered. If you are found to be tampering with the ducks, the local business or ourselves will call the RSPCA and the police and take steps to prosecute you for animal cruelty and any other crime you may have committed in the process.
  11. General Terms
    • This promotion is organised and funded solely by Aquarius Home Improvements Ltd to encourage support for local Ilkeston businesses this Christmas.
    • No participating business, organisation, or individual (including The Ilson Gnome) is affiliated with or endorsing this promotion. We do not know The Ilson Gnome’s identity and prefer the mystery to remain.
    • Aquarius Home Improvements Ltd may amend, suspend, or cancel the competition if circumstances require.
    • The promoter’s decision in all matters is final and binding.
    • This competition is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
